Welcome to your first set of October Harvest Moon horoscopes! This is such a fantastic month as we have not one, but TWO full moons, meaning double the fun and double the horoscopes!
I want to quickly clear up any confusion between the Harvest Moon and the Hunter’s Moon - these lunar events are not based on the month that they occur in, but rather on specific astronomical events. The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox - usually, the title is taken by the early-to-mid September full moon. However, this year’s full moon closest to the equinox is in October (which happens roughly every three years), so we have an October Harvest Moon! On the other hand, the Hunter’s Moon is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon. This Hunter’s Moon will also be a Blue Moon (two full moons in one month) and will be on spooky spooky October 31st (the midpoint between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice)!
TLDR: This upcoming/current full moon on October 2nd is the Harvest Moon as it is the full moon closest to the equinox, and the Hunter's Moon is going to be the second full moon of October (Oct 31 Blue Moon) as it is the first full moon following the Harvest Moon.
